Question: What is the difference between a rigid box and a cardboard box?
Answer: A rigid box is made from thick, combined cardboards, with a thickness range from 1mm to 3mm. It holds its shape permanently and cannot be folded flat like a standard cardboard box. This makes rigid boxes significantly heavier, sturdier, and more premium in feel. Cardboard boxes are made from thinner folding carton and are suited for everyday product packaging. Rigid boxes are preferred for luxury products, premium gifts, jewellery, cosmetics, and electronics, where presentation is critical.
Question: Are your rigid boxes handmade?
Answer: Rigid boxes are always hand-assembled by our skilled production team at our Lahore manufacturing facility. While certain processes, such as die cutting and board preparation, are done by machine for precision and consistency, the final assembly is entirely manual. The custom-printed outer wrap paper is carefully hand-applied over the greyboard using a neatness-first process with strict in-house quality control at every stage. This hands-on approach is what gives premium rigid boxes their clean edges, tight corners, and flawless finish — something that fully automated production cannot reliably achieve.
Question: What is your Rigid Box Manufacturing process?
Answer: Our rigid box manufacturing process follows a structured sequence. It begins with greyboard cutting to the required box dimensions as per the dieline of the box, followed by tapes, glue, and folding to form the box structure. The outer wrap paper is separately printed on our offset press, then laminated and die cut to size. In the final stage, the printed wrap is hand-applied over the greyboard shell with precision, ensuring clean corners and zero air bubbles. Any interior inserts — foam, velvet, or cardboard — are then fitted, and the finished boxes go through a final quality inspection before packing and dispatch. Every stage is completed in-house at our Lahore facility.
Question: What type of paper is used on the outside of a rigid box?
Answer: We use 128 GSM Art paper on the outside of the rigid box. We do not work with uncoated and textured papers for the rigid boxes, since we work with pasting the finished paper manually, so textured and uncoated papers do not leave a fine finish with it. So we always recommend and use art paper with lamination on it, so a neat finished box can be produced.
Question: Can you do embossing and debossing on the custom rigid box?
Answer: Embossing can be done on the box. However, debossing can not be done. We can emboss the outer side of the paper and place a card beneath the embossed structure before pasting it on the hardboard. However, for debossing, that is not possible.
Question: Do you provide samples for Rigid boxes before production?
Answer: Yes, every rigid box production begins with a sample prototype, which is shown and approved by the customer before we begin bulk production.
